Help!!! lol.

I have been using an over the counter ovulation testing kit, and earlier today there was no line, but tonight there was. Its faint, not as strong as the control line. Does this mean I just started ovulating? I dont usually wait as long as I did tonight to read the result, so Im concerned I missed my window already.

Any personal experience would be great concerning these things. Thanks.

I guess I should mention that this morning I also had the EWCM. That is why I was so confused that the ovulation test came up negative, and why Im thinking the one tonight could be correct. We've been trying for a few months now, this is the first month with an ovulation kit, so hopefully this is it LOL.

That would still be considered a - test. It has to be as dark as or darker than the control line. What brand are you using? I may have a pic of a + test to show you.

If you are just starting to get a line then it should get darker in the next few days. Everyone I know gets best results with OPKs around 1-2pm in the afternoon since the LH surge starts in the mornings and FMU won't be accurate.

The test I used was supposed to only be used first thing in the morning. If your test is that way, then tonight's test might not be that accurate.

A positive result on the test means that you will ovulate in the next 24 hours.

You still have to consider it negative. And you can't really compare the darkness of the lines on different tests becuase each test will detect a different amount of lutenizing hormone--LH. The FDA says that each test must detect AT LEAST the level they advertise, but some detect way less and some detect just that amount. So, as long as you are testing properly--holding your urine for 4 hours with minimal fluid intake.

Geez, I didn't even know they had anything like that.
When I was trying to get pregnant I did the Basal Metabolic temperature chart.
You get the metabolic thermometer and take your temperature every morning before you do anything or even get out of bed.
You chart it on the chart in the box it came in.
Then when the temperature spikes or drops you ovulated (I can't remember which one, it was 23 years ago). It's all in the directions.
It worked both times.
Yea, we did it one morning (before my hubby went to work as to not miss the window) when my temp did whatever, up or down, and that one time out of like the whole year worked. I tell my daughter that now and she says mo-omm! She is 19. That was our second baby.

Read the package insert. Most of them say when it is positive you will ovulate in 24 to 36 hours.

Sometimes if you leave a test sitting around the test lines will darken...I've done it many times and thought "oh it's time" only to find out two days LATER that that day was actually "the time" ; )

the way it was explained to me was it is best to take it first thing in the morning and once it is positive to have sex on that day, the next day and the day after that (so 3 days of lots of baby dancing lol).
