I handwash mine because they are Victorias Secret and they say on the label handwash only. Just in the sink with a little laundry soap. Then I rinse and add a little fabric softner. Then rinse again and squeeze water out but dont wring it out. Then lay it flat to dry.

The pillowcase works, but it is easier to throw them in a garment bag! You can find garment bags at Bed, Bath, and Beyond. I've even seen them at dollar stores. I've been doing this for years. I use a mesh bag with a zipper and throw them in with the rest of my laundry on the "cool" or "cold" setting. If you want to be more careful, just use the "delicate" setting on your washer.
Don't put them in the dryer, though! The elastic will deteriorate.
I've been washing bras like this for 15 years or more.

I use washing machine all time using warm or cold wash.
Never bleach. I also use clothes dryer, but on a low heat setting & remove as soon as dry. Each bra lasts years for me before it needs replacement. Always hook bra together so hooks don't catch on something or wash inside a pinned pillow case.
Rules: 1) no hot water wash, 2) no bleach, 3) no hot dryer.

Yes, always handwash your bras. Soak them in detergent/water for a few hours, wash and rinse. You can even let them dry in your bathroom.

It would probably make them last longer. If you do hand wash, use Woolite (gentle soap). I don't hand wash and they do last a long time. The thing I don't do is: put them in the dryer. Heat causes loss of elasticity.

I put mine in the washer, but hang to dry by one of the shoulder straps around a hanger handle. Drying in the dryer
messes up the elastic.

The washer can tear them up. If you don't want to hand wash them. just place them in a pull over shirt and tie the ends together.

If they are the light, thin, unpadded, almost nothing types, you must hand wash. If they are the padded heavy duty ones, its your choice.
