First, take the fraction (1/9) and interpret the / as divided- because that's all it is! 1 divided by 9! (most teachers accept the use of a calculator for this part) 1 divided by 9= 0.111... (the ones repeat infinetly)
Now, add the whole number: 11

Don't worry about the 11 part as that will still be 11 when you convert it to a decimal. The 11 will just be before the decimal point.
1/9 as a decimal is 9 divided into 1 which if you figure it out either by pencil and paper or calculator will give you just a bunch of repeating 1's (0.1111111111111111111111......)
Therefore you can express 11 1/9 as 11.111 (repeating). Sometimes they note a repeating decimal either by the ellipsis (...) or by a line over the repeating number.

to turn a fraction 1/9 into a decimal you divde the numerator by the denomenator (1 divided by 9) which equals .11111(repeating to show a repeating decimal make a dash above the last letter).
Treat the "AND" in eleven AND one ninth as where the decimal point should be placed. SO.. it turns out to be 11.111

make the 11 part of the fraction too by multiplying the denominator (9) by 11, which is 99.
then you add the numerator (1) to that to get the new numerator, which would be 100.
now you do the numerator (100) divided by the denominator (9) to get your decimal, which would be 11.11

Multiply 11 times 9 (11*9) then add 1. It will give you an improper fraction and then just divide the numerater which is 100 by the denominater which is 9.

Multiply 11 x9=99; 99+1=100
Change it into a fraction--100/9 and then
Divide 100 into 9, and you get the decimal 0.09
When changing fractions to decimals, always divide the largest number into the smallest one.

Turn it into an impropre fraction.
100/9
Then, divide the top by the bottom.
100/9 = 11.1
So there's your decimal.
That's all you have to do is divide the top by the bottom.
