Depends on the politician.

When Mike Gravel makes a promise, I believe he will do his best to fulfill it. He has a record of honesty and courage and I like a candidate who tells the truth and has principles.

When Clinton or Giuliani make promises, I dont believe a word. Either one of them getting elected would just be more of the same. In Gravel's words "politics as usual".

Not at all. Some of them (very few) may have the best intentions, but once they get into office it's a different story. Here in Canada I have never even once heard anyone actually say they trust politicians, and that goes at every level of government. As I've said before, all we can hope for is that the 'least-bad' individual and party wins.

Nope....but is still amazes me.....They must have some kind of powers linked to mass hypnosis ot¡r massive hysteria...Otherwise they would never win the elections, with such repetitive promises....and corny, - worn out speeches...
There is something magic in the way they promise false things to us.....Our beloved president....is....well...I wont comment on that....its public dominion how many screw-ups he has had already....
