Need your ideas for a CD we're going to play in the background at a bridal shower. Nothing negative (e.g., "Love Stinks" by the J. Geils Band). Thanks!!

You can go several ways with this. You could have a shower for them both as a couple. If you only want to give it in her honor then you can possibly choose from the following: Bridal Luncheon - Winter - hot drinks and finger sandwiches kind of thing. Lingerie Bridal Shower - exactly what the name entails. Or have a Bridal Tea Luncheon - Those are always nice around 2 with tea and gifts. Some great ideas for favors are bridal shower scrolls, advice cards, candy, bath salts, mint books - the list is endless - A lot of different opportunities, it is what you feel most comfortable with hosting.

Oh great! All this work, and now you say the song has to mention marriage!! :(

Songs that mention marriage are few & far between. Most of them are probably not "cheesy", and the ones that are might be very difficult to find. These are the songs I could find that mention weddings:

"Hotel Yorba" - White Stripes
"Chapel of Love" - Dixie Cups
"If You Want To Be Happy" - Jimmy Soul
"Dear Doctor" - The Rolling Stones
"Band Of Gold" - Freda Payne
"Let's Get Married" - The Proclaimers
"Be My Wife" - David Bowie
"White Wedding" - Billy Idol
And a huge list of others here: http://www.ilxor.com/ILX/ThreadSelectedControllerServlet?boardid=41&threadid=47024

"I Will do Anything for Love" by Meatloaf
"The Crying Game" Boy George
"Nothing's Gonna Stop Us Now" - Starship
"Wind Beneath My Wings" - Bette Midler
"Somewhere Out There" - James Horner, Barry Mann, Cynthia Weil
"After All" - Peter Cetera
"Eric Carman" - Hungry Eyes
"(I've Had) the Time of My Life" - Bill Medley & Jennifer Warnes
"You Are So Beautiful" - Joe Cocker
"More Than Words" - Extreme
"You Light Up My Life" - Debbie Boone
"(Everything I Do) I Do It For You" - Bryan Adams
"Yummy Yummy Yummy (I Got Love In My Tummy)" - Ohio Express
"Power of Love" - Huey Lewis & The News
"You're The Inspiration" - Chicago

Search for "Died in your Arms Tonight" in MIDI format or ANY song in MIDI format. (Yahoo! won't let me post a link to the site I would like to post).

Every song is done in MIDI, which means it has a cheesy "elevator music" quality to it.
