Since you said that he ate his fry, I guess they were already free swimming
As soon as the fry is free swimming you have to take out the male and raise the you yourself

BUT DON'T KILL YOUR BETTA BECAUSE OF THAT

eatting the fry isnt always the males faul in away.

Males will sometimes eat the fry if their is a hidden problem, like illness or something. Remmber that they can sense what we cant.

While yes he could be new to breeding and ate the eggs, remember that before you get angery it could be for reasons that would be best.

Jut because u had an unsuccessful spawn doesnt mean you should eliminate males. or females for that matter.

if he is just a young male, then it will come in experience, or maybe there is a problem on your part. based on the tank water, tank, and se-up.

Don't kill him, that's just what Bettas do. They eat their young and all of the young should not be contained in the same tank.

the only reasons he could have ate his eggs is that you must have starteled him which gave him the idea you were threatining him in a way so thats why he ate them and also it is normal.
