I get so tired of local media hype. I mean, it's not everyday that we hear of bridges collapsing. Not to downplay what happened, but who else is tired of crappy local media reporting that just acts like the general public is a bunch of idiots?

I live in indianapolis. I heard on the news that they are doing an investigation on our bridges to see if the government should be fixing them. Why do they add to people's fears like that? I could see if we have bridges collapsing every other day, but come on--out of the blue something happens and now all of a sudden they have people avoiding bridges that have been in use for decades without even a thought. Oh well maybe I should have found some rant place for this. Sorry.

They interviewed two bridges in our area. Both said the Minnesota bridge was a nice bridge, always mowed the yard and so on, very nice; they never thought it would do anything like it did.

Nothing spells exciting television like unsequenced shots of your local stretches of unmoving concrete; and live shots in front of these backdrops of splendor.

Admit it. You're scared. You want to know whether the little covered bridge in the Amish part of your county will support a parade of the First Armored Division followed by 22 double-wides, then the Boston Marathon and assorted steam rollers.

Yea, but my state ordered inspections of all major bridges too I think. I think they also closed down 1 bridge. I wouldn't say it's all hype. That bridge collapse is kind of a wake up call. Better safe than sorry I guess.

We don't have any bridges in Southern Nevada. So, one station decided to do an "in depth investigation" of a bridge being built over the Colorado River south of Hoover Dam. Jst makes me wonder how long until we see videotape of blueprints!

Yup. Picture of the biggest bridge in town is front and center in today's newspaper-- with a bunch of dribble about how safe it may not be after all. Maybe they figure bridge collapse is contagious or something.

yeah, I watched the local news last night...because the tv was still on after the show i was actually watching. It was humorous...They were interviewing drivers close to a huge bridge over a bay asking them if they felt safe crossing it.

I kinda doubt that anybody turned around.

Its like the American Idol coverage on the local news...right after American Idol...does it really benefit the viewer...or does it make the local news people feel important.

There are over 6 billion human beings on our planet. to anticipate that there is in actuality one which you will have an invaluable relationship with is somewhat naive. once you're fortunate, you nonetheless discover the guy eye-catching after the honeymoon era, and the rest is paintings to maintain that going. A "soul mate" is a extreme-high quality thought, yet i do no longer think of this is in any respect lifelike.
