They are afraid of free speech because people can criticize them. That is why they are pushing to control talk radio because liberal talk radio has failed. They believe people are not able to think for themselves about what products or services to buy so the government needs to provide them or heavily monitor distribution that meets their approval. France is their model, where the unemployment and suicide rate are double the U.S. and government rules. The poor are the victim because they can't get jobs and government handouts are limited in deeply indebted France. Yet this is what the Democrats are putting on our backs because people want this in the U.S. by electing them.

Well it falls in to two categories:

1. The duped. These are the the soccer moms who watch Oprah and read "Women's" magazines. They like the "feel good effect" of Liberalism

2. The Elite. These are people who are the "leaders" John Kerry, John Edwards, George W. Bush and so on. These people are promoting an agenda that will lead to a "One world government" These people are not duped they know exactly what they are doing and free speech and capitalism directly threaten them.

Sorry to be wordy but I thought you deserved a complete answer.

Wait a second...isn't "Free Speech" unpatriotic? I thought that was the reason Dubya didn't agree with anyone who told him what a God damn mess he was getting the country into!!!

Capitalism doesn't mean a FREE RIDE! We must have over-sight on these money hoarding corrupts or you end up with Enron, Arthter Anderson and Viacom and oil companies that rip people off!

We have laws in this country, FOR A REASON!

I'm sorry but wasn't it the Republicans who called every one unpatriotic and unAmerican if they disagreed with the President and his policies --- talk about hating free speech and telling people how to think and act. I'm all for responsible capitalism not money hungry CEOs that are making huge profits for their benefit and not their employees or consumers.

If you are against Bush you are antiAmerican. Does THAT sound like free speech? Maybe a Republican Dictator. Come to think of it Bush did say being a Dictator would be easier.

Wow, what a decisive argument! Chock full of facts to support your thesis, links to items proving the point, I am awed by the power of your argument sir!

Not much one could say in response to a convincing, well researched proposition like that, no sir!

A better question is, "Why do neo-cons have to constantly spew contrived questions on this site to divert the fact that their administration has been such a miserable failure at every aspect of government for the past 6 years?"

They are not trying to tell people how to act and think -- that's what most Republicans are doing.

Democrats just want your money.

They hate capitalism simply because the wealth isn't distributed equally among those of us who work and those who would rather stay home and watch soap operas.
As far as free speech - doesn't that include trying to expose their agendas for what it truly is?
