Yes, everyone who is a US citizen has to pay income taxes, there are NO exceptions.
Usually, the tax returns of the President are obtained under the Freedom of Information Act and are published on the Nightly National News. The tax returns of the President have always been made public for at least the last 10 years.
The ones who we need to worry about are the rich who use tax shelters to hide most of their wealth and so not pay taxes on it. The Governor of California is wealthy and when he took office he took a campaign pledge to get paid only $1.00/per year for his salary; the rest of the money that he would be owed goes back to help California. He is doing this for real, but there are a lot of executives who claim to do the same but don't.
For example when a person owns the corporation they can claim that corporation owns most of their assets, even their house, their car, their wardrobe. They then claim to have a salary of only $1.00 per year from the corporation so they are immune to income tax. Legally this can be done and it is a common and major violation of the system.
The tax code states: "All US Citizens will pay an income tax based on their total world wide income." As a legal measure a corporation is considered a person so it pays its own income tax and therefore it can be used to limit liability, risk and how much income tax someone has to pay; normally the really rich. If the corporation owns the business jet then it must pay the taxes on it and NOT the business man who owns and flies it.
John Travolta is a pilot and owns his own business jet that he flies regularly. But, if you check the tax records I bet he doesn't own the jet, instead his production company owns the jet and as a corporation it has to pay the taxes.
