I would NEVER want to hear that my child had been sexually abused or beaten up. My mother's instinct would take over and things might get out of hand. Although there are many things a mother or father may never want to hear, sometimes they're faced with things beyond description, beyond your imagination.
On a funnier note - I wouldn't care much for "Mom! I'm done *in bathroom* - I need you to come wipe my bum!"

That they are a teenager coming home saying she is pregnant or my son coming home saying he got a girl pregnant.
I did that to my parents and I was 17 yrs old and I hope my kids have better sence than what I did back then.
