If it's severe, you should be seen by a doctor. It could be an abscess on your tonsil or tonsillitis. You don't have to have a fever to have strep throat. Can you see anything inside your mouth? Do you know what a canker sore is? A canker sore could be another possibility. Take some tylenol tonight and go to the doctor tomorrow.

May not be a simple sore throat. Firstly, any sore throat lasting longer than a day or two should be checked by a physician. Secondly, if its only sore on the one side, its quite possible that you burned it with hot or spicy food, that it may be an ulcerative spot....no way of knowing without the doc checking it out. It takes only a second or two for him to look down your throat, so just get there and end your guessing game.

could be allergies. And if you wake up in the morning and your throat feels really dry and scratchy, it's probably just dust in the air during this hot dry season. I guess that depend on what part of the country that you live in!
