The nation has many issues tearing the country apart at its seams and if something isnt done then the nation will collapse in on itself from the stress. Things need to change, theres still a really good chance for the nation to be fixed and become better, if you say its the best nation in the world then prove it, make it better so that no one not even the most pessimistic person can deny it. Besides a hand basket wouldnt fit the nation and all its problems on the way to hell, id go with the titanic size crate.

Don't assume just because you live in one country that the people on Yahoo answers only come from the country you live in. The Majority of people on Yahoo Answers come from three countries. UK, US and OZ.

It's going to hell in a handbasket because this administration and the GOP have been under the mistaken belief these last 12 years that they could do pretty much ANYTHING they want--and they didn't have to answer to *anyone*.

I don't think our country is going down the tubes, in fact I think this is best country to live in! I am concerned about the increasingly socialist nature of our government though.
