Cops don't usually just sit there and wait to issue tickets to red cars. I know this because I dirve one. The reason a red car would most likely recieve a ticket is all due to the reflection of radar waves or microwaves what a police gun uses. Say your in the freeway and a group of cars are all traveling around the same speed. But, your car is red and there's a black one next to you. If there is a police up ahead reading radar the red car will reflect the radar waves back a little faster and better due to the color red being closest to the wavelength pattern emmited by a radar gun. I know it's a little confusing but, this is why people have the understanding that people with red cars recieve more tickets. It's a matter of being spotted a little easier by a radar gun.

It has been some years ago, but someone did a study and found out that they actually do get more tickets. Now whether it is due to the color of the car or just the fact that people that buy the cars drive faster. They are a little more out going, a little wilder, more of a free spirit. At least that was what the article said. I saw it back in the 70's I recall.

yes I owed a red Buick well it was my mothers car. And every time I was in it YES i got a ticket. My other car in 7 years I owned it I never got a speeding ticket. Although I was chased about every day they just couldn't catch me. As it was a 1968 442 Olds that would top out at a cool 173 MPH. Maybe that's why I never got a ticket in it it was dark green

It all depends. A red car that gets lippy with the cops is going to get way more tickets than a respectful silver one.

yes they do,it was actually prov-en to be true,it seems there more noticeable ,but they did a survey and looked the amount of cars that had been ticketed, and the majority of them was red, just a good reason not to own one though, good luck on it.
