They may be fascinated by you and resentful at the same time. If they see you as unapproachable but still want to maintain contact with you they will answer questions as a way of irritating you.

Could be because:
1. they want the points
2. they like the question
3.they have a good answer
4. they want to report you
5. they want to say something to make you feel bad and or stupid and be smarta**es at you.
Don't fret your pretty liitle pink head about it. Those types like #4 and #5 aren't worth your precious time and energy.
It also seems that you have a sh*tload of peeps that DO like you, including me, so lets PARTY Sweet Elf style! WOOHOO! =D

Becuase some people are cowards and the only way they can deal with things is to hide behind their computer screen and be rude...they don't have the cojones to stand up to anyone in real life.
