Would "President" Romney OWE the Mormon Church?

"SALT LAKE CITY -- Governor Mitt Romney's political team has quietly consulted with leaders of the Mormon Church to map out plans for a nationwide network of Mormon supporters to help Romney capture the presidency in 2008, according to interviews and written materials reflecting plans for the initiative.

Over the past two months, Romney's political operatives and church leaders have discussed building a grass-roots political organization using alumni chapters of Brigham Young University's business school around the country. More recently, representatives of BYU, which is run by the church, and Romney's political action committee have begun soliciting help from prominent Mormons, including a well-known author suggested by the governor, to build the program, which Romney advisers dubbed Mutual Values and Priorities, or MVP." - Boston Globe

Romenry is not Salt Lake City's Governor, I think being Mormon is something he will have to over come in the eyes of most Americans.

I live in boston, I read the article when it was published, and I wasn't surprised. Are you?

No, he won't owe them - but even if he did, he's already the most truly conservative of the top-tier candidates, and the Mormons would get from him what they'd want anyway, without threatening to knee-cap him.

Would Barack Obama OWE his Marxist church if elected?

Presidential candidate Barack Obama's home church in Chicago pushes a black separatist agenda, says columnist, author and speaker Erik Rush.

One could argue that Obama's church "worships things African to a far greater degree than they do Christ," Rush contends. Meanwhile, he says the writings and speech of Trinity United's pastor, Jeremiah Wright, appear to be more Marxist than Christian.

Not really, if they get him elected, then they will reap the benefits of his Presidency by being able to inact plans on his fiscal agenda. In other words - the government would be doing the spending.

Owe them what ... a big thank-you for supporting his campaign? Sure. Other than that, what does any political candidate owe his supporters when he wins than to do a good job?

He's not getting elected and neither is Edwards.

As far as I'm concerned, this country is screwed. We'll end up with a screeching socialist and a bunch of blind followers.
