Yes, that's true. That's true of any lithium ion battery (like the guy above me stated). The downside to the iPhone is that you can't replace the battery yourself. If a customer comes into my store and needs a new battery for their phone, they give me $30, and I'll put then new battery in their phone.

If you need to replace an iPhone battery, you have to ship your iPhone to Apple, pay $79 for a battery, and $6.95 for shipping so they can replace it. So a replacement battery ends up costing $85.95. But wait, you say, what am I supposed to use for a phone while my iPhone is being repaired for God knows how long? Apple provides you with the service to rent one for the time being! So that's another $29 if you want to be able to use a phone while yours is in the shop.

Let's recap.

$79 + $6.95 + $29 = $114.95

It will cost $114.95 to replace an iPhone battery. Any other phone can get the battery replaced for $30. The iPhone is a ripoff.

close , but no cigar!

300 full charges is the life expectancy for a iPhone battery.

1/2 charges count as a half.

1/4 count as a quarter.

By the time you need a replacement, you'll see commodity prices for changing a battery. Already there are discount replacement guys advertising.

Apple's price is quite ridiculous! Few but the lazy will pay it.

Its 300 cycles dude, not 300 charges. Only a full charge cycle i.e from 20% to 100% counts as a cycle. Charge it up to 99%, and it doesn't count as a full cycle, maybe half or something. You can expect to use your iPhone for 3-4 years without any problems. I bought my iPhone 4 on the day ôf its release and its still going strong. Same is the case with my iPhone 4S and iPad 3.

Um actually this is about average for a Li-Ion battery not to say it will break the phone itself but it is once again just like Ipod (Not User Replaceable). This is why I have never bought anything Ipod they all have non user replaceable batteries and that is why Ipod faced their class action lawsuit.

My iPhone got here pre-one million/2 charged from the save, so no you do no longer might desire to value it. in case you elect for you are able to, yet you do no longer might desire to. It does not exchange the aptitude of the battery existence being longer.
