What's the worst tactic you use while arguing with your better half?

I have a tendency to mock anger, and let me tell you, it's like playing with nitro glycerin.

It occasionally blows up in your face.

Well, usually my better half begins to curse my other half making me go to the right side! lol! but sometimes, my bad half lulls me and temps me so much tht my better half's shut completely and i surrender to the bad half, tho I do regret later and I regret a lot...lol. But oh well, I guess, my best tactic is by sayin to my good side how dumb it is and being a good person doesnt really work in this world. But even then, there are times when I cant decide between the two and like life with its two opposite sides good and bad, right and wrong, i keep swinging to and fro...

Good Question!!!

I am a name caller. I never say anything like, "You are a bad lover! Or a bad father!" but I do drop the, "You are such an ******! Or Stupid, idiot" and so on. I think you get the point.

I always feel bad later. It is childish. But in the heat of the moment...it feels good to call names.

I usually just give him the silent treatment and let him argue with himself while I go to the next room.

however the other day
My husband asked why I was being such an asshole the other day. I told him that he was finally rubbing off on me. It made him mad of course.

Thankfully we rarely argue, but today is one of those days.

My ex use to do the mock anger thing with me and that really is not pretty. FYI -- You look goofy when you do it.....and you are absolutely correct in that it is like nitro, cause it use to set me off.

You can't be a wimp, and let some broad walk on you.
I always reflect on the great heroic men in our history who fought against evil and repression.
Then I walk right up close to that pitiful and fragile female and in a steady even voice, I leave no doubt who's in charge of this house, when I announce, " I'll do those darn dishes whenever I get ready; ------That is, if it's O.K. with you precious".-------"honey?."-------"Is that O.K.?"--------"honey?"

Well I learned that logic, reason and the truth were really bad ideas. I just started walking away... I hate being yelled at for absolutely no reason.
Once I said "go ahead and have your come apart" because she was building up steam for an argument. That REALLY made her mad!

I don't know if I consider this a tactical decision... but I usually just tell her quickly, after an argument starts mushrooming, that she is right and I am wrong... we don't argue that much anyway.

You may be right, but you can't make the other person like it! No matter how right you are! And no matter how wrong they are! There are no winners on either side so meet in the middle and agree to disagree and forget it!

I found out the other day that when she complains that the spaghetti is undercooked that throwing her supper in the trashcan is not the best tactic to use.

That better half of mine can be a dickens. Always "blah, blah, blah, why do you answer those silly questions?" But I prevail every time because the better half is weak and quite frankly the half of my better. I'm always confused by me.
