If you build anything it should be the continuation of your path becuse building anything else would stop you from your journey. If your path is good keep building it the same, if it is bad try building it better. If you have stepped off the path and are making yourself a new one you should tell them why you stepped off that path and what your new path is about. If you don't like them following your path you should ask yourself why them following is a problem for you it maybe that you are afraid they will overtake you and make the path their own.

Hopefully a bridge. The path I create is for my purposes. Any attempt that another makes to follow the same path will be fraught with dangers. Following in the footsteps of another is the experience of envy. It is only too late that we realize that the original path was the one that we need to be on. Envy will create a very unpleasant detour.

I build a bridge that if someone was following me would cross that bridge and enter into a world filled with joy, laughter, awe, inspiration and most of all a heart that would cry with joy for following my path.

it depends on the purpose of the path. the reason why you made the path. In my opinion...I'd build a a longer and bigger path for more people to follow.

A yellow brick road?
Seriously, aren't we all hoping to leave a legacy? If we are walking the right path there will be those that follow. If they do, we are building a legacy.

A friend of mine was taking a test and someone was copying his answers. My friend put down the wrong answers. After the copier had handed in his test my friend put down the correct answers. To this day the copier could not understand how he got a zero and my friend got a 100!!

It can't be the "path least traveled"; therefore, it must be the "path to be traveled".
