I bought the dress and the SPANX before I found out I was pregnant, Ovbviously I wouldn't jeopardize the baby just to look better. What are your thoughts though?

There's no way it could hurt you or the baby at just 5 weeks. It's only about the size of a green pea anyway and deep in your tummy.
Later on in pregnancy it might be uncomfortable or compromise your circulation, but this early it won't cause any trouble.
I say go for it and enjoy being slim for a day!
I saw some Spanx products on the website for expectant mothers if you are interested.

You're only 5 weeks---go on, live a little! Wear Spanx...LOL...if you were 5 months I might have said no way, but you don't even have a pregnancy bump yet...Enjoy the Spanx while you can---you'll HATE anything around your stomach in a few months...

SPANX will not harm the baby, but it may make you feel uncomfortable if it's too tight. At 5 weeks your baby is still tiny, so it won't matter. Just as long as you are comfortable, and not cutting off circulation, it's fine. Have fun!

Take it from a mother of three, go for it while you still can, because nylons/spanx are just fine! You will miss your body soon enough, so look your best woman! Congratulations on your baby!

At 5 weeks your baby is the size of a grain of rice, and well cushioned within the amniotic fluid, still far down in your pelvis behind the pelvic bones. Wearing tight clothing, at any point in pregnancy, would not hurt the baby, only possibly make you uncomfortable.

You're not very far along, so it might not hurt the baby, but if I were you, I'd put the dress and Spanx away for another time and run out and get a new dress... you would never forgive yourself if anything happened--you'd be doing the "what ifs" for the rest of your life.

Yes, it's ok. The baby is so small at that point there isn't really any way to harm it from the outside. As long as they're not cutting iff our circulation, you'll be fine

i wore them under a dress at 3 months preg. for a couple of hrs and it was fine.

perfectly safe. Heck you can wear them at 5 months if you want to!
