I have attended 2 concerts basically back to back. I don't know if other people notice, but the concert was just way toooo loud. I can hardly hear my friend talking to me. Is there an electronic device you can carry and tell the sound guys in the control booth "Hey guys...the volume here inside is just too loud... look at this instrument... its off the roof."

What is that instrument and How loud is too loud for human ear to handle without hurting the ear drum?

I can tell if a concert is too loud by the amount of hearing loss I have the next day or two, which has been every concert I have been to in my entire life.

The moral of the story is they are ALL way too loud.

I dont know the name of the instrument that measures noise level, but studies have been done that prove you can have hearing damage from being at a concert, in fact there are some musicians (i.e. drummers) who have lost their hearing from all those years touring.

Suggestion, next time wear ear plugs. Maybe it isn't as cool but you can protect your hearing.

i think its the guitars. But they sound great being played at concerts most of the time. I guess it sounds too loud for you since ur ears are not used to that amount of noise or maybe u have sensative hearing. But don't worry when i went to my first concert it was way too loud for me and i also couldn't hear what my friend was saying either. But if u keep going to more concerts ur hearing could get used to the noise. But always at the beginning of the concert it sounds the loudest to me but as the time goes my hears got used to it.Also going to any concert will most likely always be extremely loud or basically loud which is very bad for ur ears, but not as bad as hearing a rocket launch.

im sure there is.... it's just that people like to rock loud. (or whatever kind of music it is.) people want the music to basically fill them up, to make sure they never for get it you'll know if it's hurting your ears.
when you can't understand it as well, thats definatley too loud. but bring earplugs. i've heard some musicians think fans are crazy jamming in the front of the crowd with no ear plugs

It was too loud. They KNOW it's too loud. But loud is what most people want, probably.

Hope the damage to your hearing is temporary.
