ESPN was actually foolish enough to list Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson on a list of Future Hall of Famers even though neither have ever played even a snap.

They've also listed 2nd year players who have yet to prove themselves such as Matt Leinart.

How can anybody seriously list players who have not yet proven themselves at the NFL level as Hall of Fame worthy?

Is this your fist time dealing with the talking heads at ESPN or something? They do this EVERY year, they did this with Reggie Bush, and yes he's good, but he wasn't even the best rookie on the team.

To save yourself some money from buying all that aspirin, don't listen to those so-called "experts."

Cheers!

These make it in no more that 3 ballots if they retire now: Tom Brady LaDainian Tomlinson Jason Taylor Ray Lewis Ed Reed Donovan McNabb Champ Bailey (this position might be the hardest, Lester Hayes and Eric Allen are still waiting) Peyton Manning Brett Favre Steve Hutchinson (apparently there is no love for linemen) Tony Gonzalez Randy Moss Terrell Owens Troy Polamalu Adam Vinatieri Players like Drew Brees, Adrian Peterson, Andre Johnson, Larry Fitzgerald or Julius Peppers are on the right track but need a few more good seasons.

Because its what they do. What do you expect them say? here is a guy that has never taken a snap, but some think he may be better than others; ESPN sports analyst think that if he stays healthy, works hard, has a long career, and is lucky enough to be with one or more successful teams - he might be recognized by the hall of fame in 20 years. Who would tune-in to hear reality? All news say the same things in a way to make you excited. Its just business.

Oh my god I'm glad you bring up this question, because i just went over that ESPN page too just to see how they rated the chance of them to get into the HOF. But i found out some of the great college players like Calvin Johnson and Adrian Peterson are most likely to be in went they haven't play a freaking down yet. But they leave out a great player like Isaac Bruce on the bubbles, their reason Isaac is not dominant enough lol. These peoples some time i wonder how they ever get the job as an analyst. Oh they leave great players like Donavon McNabb and Steve McCain on the bubbles but guys like Steven Jackson, A.J Hawk, Matt Leinart the most likely to make it from their automatic 41-50 guys wow. But how the hell guy like McNabb who's lead his team to 3 straight NFC championship at one point not gonna get in down the line if McNabb continue his great play, i know he's hurt last year but beside that, how a guys who haven't play a down or play just 1 year gonna get in over McNabb and McNair, what a joke, those analyst should have their writing job revokes.

They are just extremely stupid. You can't really tell if guys like Reggie Bush,Vince Young,Calvin Johnson,Matt Leinart,Lofa Tatupu,Demarcus Ware,A.J Hawk, and Adrian Peterson are actually going to the hall of fame. And they are saying guys like Simeon Rice and Steve Smith won't make it.And they are saying guys like Jamarcus Russell and Brady Quinn won't make it when they haven't played a game yet. They should only put Veterans on the lists and take out rookies or player who haven't stayed in the league for long.

This is why ESPN is no longer credible in anything they say... it's a shame, it used to be a good network...now it's a joke.

So who's more now, Adrian Peterson or Matt Leinart? Let's toss it over to Jessica Biehl.

Anyway, bottom line is, when you're ESPN, it's NEVER too late to start hyping a player.

Oh, sorry guys, gotta run... almost time for the replay of the 2003 hot dog eating championshps on ESPN classic! I missed it when it aired live, and I vowed to catch it next time it's on, and this is too important to trust TiVO! Dang, it's been a long 4 years, but I finally get to see it.. whoo-HOOOO! (and please don't tell me who won, I hate when people do that!)

Are you seriously shocked that ESPN is hyping someone? Thats what they do. Did you see that rediculous "who's more now" thing they did on sportscenters? They were actually hyping the hype around people. I don't even know what to say about that its so funny. Having said that, I wouldn't bet against any of those players you mentioned ending up in the hall.

Well i think adrian peterson is gonna be slop he is injury prone so i honestly think he is gonna be another fred taylor a good running back when he is healthy but slop. Calvin Johnson on the other hand i think could very well be a hall of famer think about it he has the speed and size he is another randy moss in my eyes without the problems so i think he has the potential to but i agree way to early to tell.

Its all pretty much predictions based on a couple different ratings including intangible and upsides which players like Calivin Johnson, Adrian Peterson, and a lot of 2nd year players have.
