I think the late Marvin Gaye was a great singer taken away from us too soon. Al Green was a great singer too but Marvin had more soul. Just listen to there music and decide. It's Marvin, Marvin, Marvin.......

It's a tie -- both are soulful, although their styles are different. You should have heard Al Green singing with Aretha Franklin on "Freeway of Love" at the Concert for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1994 -- what an incredible duet!!

dang,a tough one!! both had soul,but marvin was more mainstream than al..more white audiences had fell in love with him,marvin came out of the penecostal church,al came out of the black baptist church..when al sings,u here the baptist gospel singing,down home soul!! both have a lot of female fans!! and paved the way for these new singers,dang i like both a lot,but i gotta say al green has more soul!!
