Anyone know how to get an online business off to a good start?? My parents started theknivery.com which sells all sorts of knives, but they don't know how to get any business. Anyone got some ideas?? It's appreciated. :)

make a myspace page for the buissness. make t-shirts for the buissness and go to local events wearing them. call local radio and moning talk shows and they want to fill in time so they will put you on for free.

You could do some kind of advertisement ... maybe in a new home develoment with new statring out couples, because everybody needs a good set of knives right? so you can make some kind of brocure ... with pictures information and the website ofcourse!! GOOD LUCK!!

Hire a good 'webmaster' and ask them to put 'tags' to your website, so that when certain words come up in searches, their site will come up. Your parents may also want to 'spend some money' to 'advertise' using those same tags ... or even different but 'associated tags' so their site goes up in the 'advertising' section of the search engine's site.
