But since I havn't gotten my period yet my doctor took me off of them I havn't gotten my period for 6months now. Since I'm off the pill i notice that I've been getting really bad cramps but no sign of my period is this normal? While on the pill I was always bloated right after I eat and since I'm off the pill I'm still getting bloated is this normal? I've also gained 11 pounds while on them and by stopping them is this normal?

It can take time to adjust to being on the pill which can cause the period to be delayed for a time, but sometimes it can also indicate a problem with the hormones being out of balance. One of the symptoms that can occur with hormone imbalance is weight gain.

The weight gain that occurs while on the pill is that of mostly water.

This weight gain is also what can cause the bloating. And yes it is not out of the norm for some women to gain weight while being on the pill.

Because of coming off the pill it will take time for the body to get the medication out of its system. It takes about 3 months for this to occur.

Exercise such as aerobic (like a dance class) can be helpful toward losing weight.

I would recommend getting a second opinion and preferably from someone that does not share the same office of the doctor you currently see to see if something may be going on with your hormones that could be causing all these symptoms.
