periods of quiet are normal, babies have a sleep schedule in the womb as well as out of it! If you start to get worried after a long stretch of inctivity, take 30 min, drink some juice (sugar will wake up the baby), and lay down and feel the kicks. Its very reassuring. Good luck, and hang on, it gets really crazy from here!!!

When in utero babies tend to be more active at night - during the day the movement of your body lulls them to sleep. At night when you are still they wake up and think it's tap dancing time!
It can be very worrisome when they are still! Have you done a fetal movement chart? I did one with my last pregnancy and it helped me calm down about the movement (except the one day she didn't move enough while I was counting - but a quick walk in the winter air soon remedied that).
To do a chart you just count fetal movement - basically you should feel 10 bumps or kicks or rolls within a 1-2 hour period. Might sound like alot but when you are sitting quietly and concentrating on counting you feel so many more. I would do mine later in the evening and usually got my 10 within 15 min. If you don't feel enough movement then you call the doctor. Usually the baby is asleep, but it gives you some quantitative information to tell your doctor instead feeling silly and nervous and wondering if you should really call.
Congrats and Good luck! Best wishes for a healthy pregnancy and baby!
Edit - I checked my pre-natal info that my doc gave me - and they recommend starting the fetal movement chart at 28 weeks - before then you might not be able to feel all the little one's movements and worry needlessly...

A BABY sleeps as well. so it's normal not to feel her move ALL the time..
but starting at 22 weeks, u shouldl start doing fetal kick count. your doc will show u how. also, if you're supernervous, you can rent a dopler, which is super safe. u put it on your abdomehn, and put the things in your ears, and u can hear your baby's heart beat. trust me, u can hear that sucker wheaterh your baby is being active or lazy.
yeah, if she kicks during the night, she'll be supertired during the day.
she's just preparing you and getting u ready for all the sleepless nights you will have 19 weeks from now when she arrives.
but yeah, the best reasurrance i can give u is to buy or rent a doppler for like $19 a month, so u can hear your little tennant's heart beat any time u feel like!!

Don't worry. It's totally normal.I remember I used to get very anxious when I wouldn't feel my baby for like 2 or 3 days but I guess she was very comfortable where she was.Everything was always normal, that time I was about to go to the hospital I got so scared but don't worry. Now she's 6 months doing perfectly fine and still kicking lol.

I worried about the same thing that you are when I was pregnant. Then I realized that some times when I thought she was not moving around were times that I was really busy doing something. At 21 weeks she is still very small and she might be moving but you are not aware of it because you are busy or concentrating on something else.

Babies sleep in utero just like they would when in the world. When you are most active, they are usually sleeping. And when you are most still they are waking. As long as you feel 10 kicks or movements in a 2 hour period, baby is fine. You can do things to stimulate baby like drink glass of juice, or eat a Popsicle. Also, gently nudging her will help wake her up if it is sleepy time. HTH!

This is normal. They tend to sleep during the day when we are busy, and wake and move a lot when we sleep. I think our movement rocks and comforts them, and when we stop, it's time for them to get up and play, so to speak. I had all four of mine do this. If it worries you too much, you can move your tummy around and poke on it to stir baby a little...that's what my doc told me to do. Nothing drastic of course, but it won't hurt you or baby. Congrats and God Bless.

She might be sleeping during the day. You should talk to your doctor about self-monitoring fetal kicks. There should be so many an hour and you'll check them by lying quiet and counting them. Maybe you can read about how to do it online or just check at your next visit. You should do it every day.

it somewhat is completely high quality. they say there's a formulation to tell if the circulation is commonplace, yet by using fact while does a fetus exist based on present day drugs's policies? as quickly as I have been given in the direction of the tip of my 2nd trimester, the strikes somewhat somewhat slowed down, yet for some reason I wasn't worried, I basically knew she replaced into high quality in there and he or she replaced into gonna do despite she felt like. After 2 or 3 weeks, I have been given back to feeling her pass extra frequently. She is sixteen months now, completely healthful and chuffed!
