Indycar/Formula One Racing?

Question

I want to get started in the sport of either Formula One or Indy Car racing. Right now, I just race karts but eventually Id like to build up to that. How would I do this?

1. Hire a professional teacher.
2. Get really good at driving.
3. Win amateur events to get invited to the next level.
4. Repeat.

You'd have to be really fast and really consistent to race for F1 or IndyCar...
