They will stay in Nashville until the majority of the new owners realize that Leipold wasn;t exaggerating his losses. They will then sell out to Del Baggio who will move the team to some unknown destination (as part of his investment into the Nashville group he has to give up his part-ownership in the San Jose Sharks and his exclusive rights to the Kansas City situation)

I think they'll stay for 2 years. The interesting part of the local group buying them for $40m less than Basillie offered, is that the 8th partner (the only non local) is Del Baggio, the same guy who tried to buy the team after Basillie and move them to KC. When, not if, when Nashville doesn't make the 14000, just watch them go. Not to slam the loyal Nashville fans, unfortunately, there just aren't enough of them. Let's face it, if they can't get people out to watch one of the most exciting teams last year, no way will they get the support, especially corporate, to survive after blowing up the team. Marty Gelinas is no Paul kariya, etc.

I hope so. I live in Memphis, Tennessee. That means the Nashville Preds are the closest team. I've been saving money up for a few weeks to drive there. If they do leave, I could go to St. Louis. Darn! I should have thought of that before.

Yes. Their new deal should keep them in that wonderful hockey hotbed known as Nashville, Tennessee for the forseeable future. Way to prop up a franchise that cannot sell out their home games, Gary Bettman!

Well it looks like they are about to get a new local owner. They also sold quite a few season tickets this year. Seems the threat of them moving got some people to buy tickets.

In a few years we will see if those people are still buying tickets and the team is making money or will they disappear again. They lost an awful lot of money so I don't think it will take too long to find out if it saved them or not.

It looks like they will. That might be a good thing for the fans, but what about the franchise itself and the rest of the NHL. It's time for the fans to step up.

I give them two years, three tops and they'll be crying poor and asking for the rights to move.
