There are as many political views as there are thinking citizens in this country, millions of shades of grey. Although, truth be told we didn't start it. The current situation in the Middle East has roots in the actions of many parties from many places (mostly Europe and the U.S.) over the past 90 some years. We're only continuing a cycle that began long before our current leaders were born. Sow the wind, reap the whirlwind.
People are dying, en masse, in many regions of the world as they have for generations to feed the various appetites of the West. Industrialization and globalization have changed ancient and traditional ways of life forever. Nearly all of us are guilty to one degree or another, at the very least we're all silently complicit in our consumption.
People will continue to die, at home and abroad, until people stop talking and actually start doing something to try to change the world positively.

Your "fact" that we started the killing of civilians in Iraq is completely wrong. The FACT is that Sadam was killing the Iraqi civilians by the thousands year after year. The media is simply focusing on the number of people dying now and were ignoring it before. The same is true with the ignoring of areas like Darfur where people are being slaughtered but the media will wait until the US military is there trying to make things better to start focusing on the numbers.
Conservatives ARE bothered by the civilian casualty count in Iraq. The difference is that conservatives are in favor of continuing to fight the battle against terrorism in Iraq, Afghanistan, and other places than to have to fight the same war on American soil. Liberals want to leave Iraq. This won't stop the fighting but will make it worse. Bringing the troops home will only bring the terrorism to our homeland. There have been over 3000 soldiers killed in Iraq in the past 6 years. There were over 3000 civilians killed in a few hours at the World Trade Center. How many more mass killings of US civilians (maybe your friends and neighbors) are you willing to suffer?

you are confused . It is a natinol security matter , if we just sit here and let them take their time to plan attacks , build army's , and collect weapons like other administrations we will get attacked again . The ends justify the means when our country's safety is at risk . Just let the professionals do their job in Iraq . It is not really a political issue , it is a strategic military issue . Also do some research and you will find out many people were dying way way before we got there to help them with their freedom
and no we did not start it , this conflict with the middle east has been going on for a very long time , 9/11 was the last draw

Anyone dying bothers me. But pacifism is a mistaken ideology.
People don't seem to understand that everything we hold dear in this country, especially our very freedom, was paid for dearly. In blood.
Innocent people shouldn't be killed. But we're only human.

Definition of liberal- Liberal simply means that if there is a better way of doing things, then they are open to change.
Name one liberal willing to change their position?
Conservative...the one's the liberals call on to bail them out when their policies fail.
I hear from some liberals that all we are accomplishing by having our troops in Iraq is to bring Americans closer to the muslims so the muslims can kill them easier...no travel involved...when asked if they thought terrorists would have attacked even if we were not in Iraq, most said yes but it would take them longer to organize the attacks and all we are doing is making it easier for them.
To this I say, Isn't it better to fight them on their own soil and not ours, with men and women trained for this who have volunteered and go into it with open eyes rather than wait for them to attack here killing civilian's including CHILDREN who never saw it comming...never had a chance...never learned to hate...
As for our barbarism for going in and declaring war against terror...let me explain it like this...if someone, out of the blue, attacked and killed my husband and children (WTC)...Don't think for a moment that I wouldn't do everything in my power to completely wipe the murderer's off the face of the planet...as well as anyone who helped them, supported them, or cheered them on...they deserve the same mercy that they extended to the men, women, and children who died both instantly and slowly...they deserve to feel the same fear that passed through the hearts and minds of the people who chose to leap out of a 100 story window because it was better than the way they would die in the building...They deserve the same consideration they gave each and every victim...and each and every victim deserves to be treated as if they were YOUR family...Make no mistake, it might be YOU or YOUR family that is next...Iraq is not a real country, only a collection of tribes that hate each other. So go ahead and hug a tree if you are so inclined, and I and the other's who think as I do will go out and eliminate the threat to all of us...

You right, I don't give a damn when someone dies that straps a bomb to themselves or thier children.
You are being lied to. The people killing civilians in Iraq are insurgents funded by Iran and Al Queda.
Not the US military.
