yes i am aware of this but only after living outside my own country 5 years .
I realized we are like frogs in boiling water. What happened to our nation ?
If our government * destroyed our bill of rights
* took our rights away to our land
* started wars for power and gain
all at the same time 150 years ago there would be a civil war.
Now we have a nation who is brainwashed by media to be scared of there neighbors, bacteria and to walk out there door. We are so afraid to loose what we think we own that if
our government announced they were guilty of all there crimes
we would not even try to overthrow them.

As I have stated in a prior response to a post of yours:
We don’t have a dictatorship just yet. After all your ability to express dissent on this forum is good evidence to the contrary. However, an overall apathy to our political malaise and obliviousness to the increasing efforts by our government to encroach upon our freedoms, by the American electorate, can one-day cause totalitarianism to rise as it did in Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Communist Russia.
Ultimately the answer to this problem is a better education for our kids, which does not sacrifice the study of history, literature, and the humanities, for science and math. It is only when our population is well informed on the aforementioned issues, that we can prevent any attempt by our government to control our lives. A population of well-rounded people is the most dangerous thing for a government that has tyrannical objectives.

Oh please, if you didn't have your freedom you would be shot for posting this question on the computer, you would not have Internet access because you might find out what people did in other countries.
You wouldn't have a nice house to live in, unless of course you were under the Dictators thumb.
Please get real, and stop spouting off at the mouth!

Agree. If the President of the United States has executive privilege then so should the other branches of government as well. Otherwise its not entirely a democracy.

I see a sparkling white pool of cool fresh water in the distance when in reality there is no water; I am knee deep in sand.
The illusion of freedom is clever, powerful, and continues to fool the majority.

We still have our freedom, give me a break. If we didn't you would have to worry about being killed for writing what you just wrote. Do you think they would allow you to talk about the government in a country that wasn't democratic?????
I'm no Bush supporter but don't cut on the United States...

The only freedom I really miss is the one to smoke a cigarette between plane flights. Most airport have done away with the smoke rooms, all that because some do gooders have determined what we should and should not do. Most elderly people today were around cigarette smoke most of their lives and they are not all ill with respiratory disease so that second hand smoke thing is really over rated .

We have not been free since they started taxing income and formed the central bank. Bush is just adding to the facade.

My life hasn't been effected at all by any of those executive orders.
You aren't free to blow up buildings or kill indiscriminately. I don't have a problem with not being able to do so.
