It is if you eat healthy or if you are predisposed to being skinny....your height matters as well, but as long as you do not feel ill and are eating right....you should not have to worry....
If you are still worried....see a doctor....

This is a question for your DOCTOR. Ask the guy who spent over 10 years of college schooling in order to make sound medical judgement on what is normal for a 16 year old female. Just schedule an appointment over the phone. Write it down in your calendar. And don't forget the "co-payment". 0/ZERO co-payment if you are lucky enough to be Canadian.

How tall are you? One of my friends is 5'2 and she's about that weight at 18 but she's also on growth hormone shots to mature her bones and is gaining weight as she grows. If you are really short it is problaby a good weight for your bodies structure but if you are more than 5'4 you need to gain body mass in a healthy way. You can't be healthy if you are average height (5'4 and up) and that light.
-5' is probably about right for that weight but if you stay super skinny once you start growing a little more, assuming you do, weight should come with it because as you grow you need more for your body to remain healthy.

At 16, I was 5'7", and my best friend was 5'0"... she was (like you, 100 lbs. soaking wet), and I was 130. Both are healthy scenarios.
According to a BMI calculator and the chart for healthy BMI for age for a 16 year old female, if you are between 4'5" and 5'3", you are at a healthy weight.
If you are shorter, you should be sure to get enough exercise and eat a healthy diet. If you are taller, you need to make sure you are eating enough protein. Either way, you should consult your doctor if you are not in this height range to discuss your options.

well if ur kinda short i guess its ok but u sound a little too skinny, i think you needs to put on just a few pounds. maybe if u get up to 100. 5 ft is pretty short tho so i guess u can get away with being really thin.

Why are people freaking out? Is it becuase everyone is so used to seeing fat people in America? .
I'm 5'5 1/2 and I am 101 lbs (17 y/o). I am just skinny, its genetic + i don't eat fast food and other junk. If you're 5' and way 96. thats fine. Most Americans are FAT anyways, they need to eat healthy and exercise!!!!!

It all depends on your height and stuff... Use a BMI Calculator(Body Mass Index) Here's the site that I use: http://www.cdc.gov/nccdphp/dnpa/bmi/
But I'm guessing that you're not overly short and just at age 16 and weighing 96 pounds... That's scary skinny. You need to gain weight because that is just unhealthy.

At 5' tall you are normal.
The question is, do you feel OK? (Health Wise) If you don't feel well see a doctor. If you feel OK then don't.
My best friend is 5' tall and is your weight and she never had a problem.
Also you may still be growing. I wouldn't worry about it.

If you're under 5 feet, then you're perfectly normal. Maybe try to gain a few pounds? But if you're healthy (eating normally, exercising reguarly) and you're over 5 feet then you got lucky and probably have a fast metabolism.

Some people might tell you your super skinnnnnnnny. I think though it actually depends on how tall you are. If you are I believe around 5'3'' or shorter than you are okay. Otherwise, you really need to eat some more. Hope I helped. =]

i weighed 96 pounds when i was in grade 7
well it also depends your height if you were 5"9 and weighed that much i would say you're on the anorexic side but if you're like 4"7 or like shorter than i gues you're normal (weight-wise anyways)
