Seattle is awesome! First of all, it is a very trendy and artsy city if that is your type of scene. It is a city, but it is rather small which is nice. If you like coffee, Seattle is the place for you! There is a starbucks on every corner and there are tons of little drive through coffee shops that are just as good! Plus, there is great shopping. Did you know that seattle was one of the first three cities to have the store forever 21? There are no cons I can think of. Try Seattle! If you are a teenage girl or even a twenty something, you will love this eclectic, trendy city.

A lot would depend on where you are moving from. The weather can be quite gloomy most of the year with weeks of cloudy days, some rain and no sun. The part of town you live in can make a difference, wether it is actually the city of Seattle or one of the suburbs. The suburbs can get quite boring, since most things to see and do are in Seattle. Not sure if its a pro or a con for you, but you'll get to meet new people and make new friends. Also you'll have to leave some old friends behind when you get here.

If you're at all into hiking and outdoors - or you'd like be - Seattle's great! We've got a great rock gym (Stone Gardens) and tons of rock climbing a day trip away. Easy mountain hikes/climbs in the North Cascades (and GORGEOUS), Mt. Rainier is fantastic, Mt. St. Helens is really neat, there's the rain forest on the penninsula which is beautiful... all of those are a day trip out. Beyond that is the Pacific Ocean and in the other direction, Lake Chelan, lots of desert in Eastern Washington, and the Gorge - awesome concerts there. You'd have plenty of opportunities to enjoy it all, even if you dad's not into that kind of thing - lots of youth groups, skiing programs - take advantage of them!

I LOVE Seattle. I guess it's not for everyone, though - some people can't get over the weather. It really is gloomy for almost 9 months. I remember one year it rained every day for 130 or something consecutive days...

I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else, though! Good luck, whatever you choose :)

It's a beautiful area of the state to live in, and it's close to all kinds of fun activities. It's actually a fairly small city, but it's very cool. There's a good transit system, the Seattle Center, the Experience Music Project (EMP), the Farmer's Market (Pike Place), Gasworks Park, Bumbershoot every year, all kinds of festivals and parades and whatnot. University of Washington is right in the University District, and you can see Mt. Rainier from downtown, ferries, Lake Washington, Ivar's (the real ones, not the fast-food ones).

Downtown, there's literally a Starbucks on every corner. It's cloudy a lot, but you learn to find the beauty in it. It also makes you REALLY appreciate July/August. We're having great weather today.

Seattle is cool in the summer, not too bad in the winter. Traffic is bad until you learn what time of day the roads are busy. Its a beautiful city when it isnt raining, but it rains a lot. There is a lot to do there, and they have a lot of good concerts.

You know what? My family and I got "stuck" in Seattle for 2 weeks. Everyone I ran into was very nice... and this was surrounding the airport. Everything looked clean and professional. The drivers were courteous. I had no complaints about where we got "stuck". Hope it helps.

It's a pretty chill city, very diverse, there's always things to do. The summertime is perfect weather, the wintertime is usually pretty mild, but it does tend to be grey/drizzy weather a lot during the year. you should definitely go with him and check it out before choosing for sure.
