Are there any Predators in here?

This is why I posted this question:

I am on the Board Of Directors of the internet organization "Child Predator Busters", and always keep my eyes peeled for anything that could be potentially harmful to minors. I saw something that got my attention in an alarming way. See my response *note* to this question:

I definitely am NOT accusing anyone of anything. But aspiring actors are most easily preyed upon. The lure of fame, fortune, and stardom makes aspiring actors a perfect target for these potentially dangerous individuals. NEVER assume that someone is who they say they are. NEVER give out personal information about yourself, such as phone numbers, location, schools you attend, etc. There are NOT people in here that you should look to to get "discovered". Get advice from maybe. But not to meet in person, and not to give personal information to. Be SAFE

I am obviously not really asking a question, I just wanted to post this after I read the question and someone asking for her specific location.

Also, when I refer to "minors" or "aspiring actors" it doesn't make any difference. This type of danger exists for both adults and minors.

I poted it here, because if you saw the link I referenced to above, then you noticed that question was in this category. It also had to do with subjects such as people pretending to be a "director" "producer" etc., and promise to help someone, "discover them", put them on the "Disney Channel" etc., and then lure them somewhere and rape or kill them. It happens. I'm not going to post this somewhere else if it means these "aspiring actors" whatever the age, are not going to see it.

I can't believe I have to keep repeating myself. I DO NOT expect some predetor to come out and say "Here I am!!" Although it would be awesome to put another one behind bars. And for your information there, SHE DID HAVE A REAL PHOTO OF HERSELF EARLIER, AND SHE TOOK IT DOWN AFTER READING MY RESPONSE!!!!

One more thing. I can't believe you would think that anyone would mistake an AVITAR for a real photo.

It amazes me how much crap I get when all I want to do is help someone. I guess maybe it's time to finish up here and stop posting help and information.

why is this question in the theatre category? :) But this is still a good post for the theatre category, but you may want to post something more like, young actors, don't give out personal info. in big shiny letters. I see that actors are preyed upon, but why post yourself up as one. You are just putting yourself in danger if you , or any other actor that responds/actress, are truly going to be harmed.

This should be posted in something having to do with safety. Maybe not as a question, because obviously, predators ARE out there, and ARE, in fact, on this site. There is no changing it. But I do thank you for caring. Its just weird how you switched from minors to aspiring actors, because they can or cannot be the same thing. It just depends. I would create a website or link to another safety info. one, and tell people to visit it, or how they like it. Chances arem you are certainly going to get flamed, but at least the information will be out there. You can post the link in responses and answers to luring "casting calls" and write what you think. :)

I totally agree. There's no reason why the advice can't be given out in the open. I have asked for people to post their location but it's because there are things I really can't give specific advice on if I don't know what state or country they're in. But folks, please know that a state or country if you're not in the US is all I need, not your city, street, etc.!

Please don't give up and stop posting smart advise because of a few idiots! The people you help most likely out number the morons! I think what you wrote is very smart and I'm so glad there is someone looking out for the vulnerable and naive. Keep posting please! You are as much needed as you are appreciated.

OK First of all, you didn't ask a question (and if you think "are there any predators in here?" counts as a question, it doesn't- no one is gonna be like "Yeah, I am!!"), and also in the "note" you left on the question the girl asked, you were like, quote, "Since you mentioned that you are a 13 year old, and you have a photo of yourself," umm just fyi, she DIDN'T have a photo of herself. That called an AVATAR. You looked kind of stupid confusing that with an actual photo of the girl herself.
But other than that, you are absolutely right in the point you're making. People should be careful what info they post where people they don't know can see it.
