I read that there will be one on August 12th, and I live in Southeast Oklahoma, what would be the best time to veiw this?

Growing up this was one of my favorite things. The Perseid shower is great because you can lay out in the back yard and eat "S'mores" while watching a free light show on a warm night. Doesn't get much better than that, unless you have chocolate milk too!

After midnight is best. Actually, just before dawn is best. I have seen some good showers by getting up an hour before dawn.

Assuming skies without clouds, you will see best when it is darkest. I suggest between 11 pm and 1 am. Also there is a new moon then, which will help.
