I know fertility decreases rapidly after the age of 35 (for the woman), I am interested in hearing from anyone who has conceived at this age? And how long did it take you? I am 36 and my partner is 28, we have been ttc for about 8 months now. I know everyone is different, but hearing positive stories keeps my hopes alive.

In 1969, my Mom was 41 when I was born. I am 38 and just had my first child last year. I went off birth control when I was 35 because I felt I was ready and if it was going to happen it will happen. We weren't particularly trying. It is very possible, don't lose hope! The best thing you can do to help things is to eat healthy, banish all negativity and fear and tell the universe you are truly ready for a baby. Best to you.

Hi there,

I got pregnant on the first try at 40. Unfortunately, I miscarried in the 4th month.

We are now trying again (I'm 41) and it's been 6 months and so far nothing.

If I can have hope, so can you! 36 is a good age to have kids if you ask me. Lots of women these days start families later in life.

Have you tried ovulation predictor kits? It could be that you're missing the mark every month. I would give it a try if you haven't already. They will help you determine when you are ovulating for sure.

P.S.
My mom had baby #05 at age 42 back in 1972. My hubby's aunt had her one and only son at age 46!

Good luck!

Actually fertility starts declining at 25. I know several women who have conceived at 36 and I am included. Although I always miscarriages and I had help with fertility drugs. I would go and talk to your ob now and get some blood work done on your hormones. Never hurts to get the guy check either as my husband had slow swimmers

My best friend is a registered nurse and she conceived at 36. She was worried about down syndrome and when to get that test to make sure. She got the test done and everything was alright. 5 months later she had a beautiful baby boy. He is so cute, she called him Liam. I wish you good luck, and yes you could still have a healthy baby. I have seen it with my own eyes:)

Loads of women have conceived later but it's risky because you could die from childbirth or your baby may come out deformed or with a genetic disease
