Marriage has its ups and downs. growing old and not having any company is a horrible life to live. you need children and grandchildren to look after you when you get old, silly..you look like a sweet girl... there are men out there ( like me) who would love to be 100% devoted to you.. for example if you were my girl.. I would think all day about how I would romance you.. candle light dinners, adventurous weekends, charm you..hold you..kiss you. love you all day long..say sweet things to you..buy things for you...take care of you financially..physically..emotionally.. be there for you through the ups and downs that life brings your way...Being married and in love is a great thing..

As far as i know, concerning love, everything is possible. I know you say you're 43 and all and a divorcee but its ok! You're alive and be thankful for that. About remarrying, of course you still can remarry and have a happy life. but the thing is do not rush ur decision! If you appear to be desperate, some guys might see that and take advantage of you. Show people that you are happy being a single mom and show them you still have it in you. When you finally found someone that takes interest in you, make sure that guy is willing to look pass ur past and love you for who you are. And there you go! A happy ever after life. By the way, 43 years old is still very young!

It's very possible to have a happy life without getting married. My mom is 53, never married and has had a pretty happy life. If you would be happy living in a studio painting all day, then I say go for it! And hey, you can always change your mind if your feelings about marriage change. It's not carved in stone, right?

Absolutely!!! You don't need a man to make you happy. Well you might for an hour but you sure don't have to marry one. I have been married for 22 years and right now sitting in a studio and painting sounds right up my alley. My daughter doesn't think she ever wants to get married. I always tell her she does not have to. I have friends and relatives that are in their 40's and 50's. Some are divorced and some were never married. They are all really succesfull and happy!

Sure, your happiness shouldn't depend on someone else. Do what makes you happy.

Living in a studio and painting does not sound bad.

Some people have just been trained and they think it is expected of them to grow up and get married and have children, etc. They are never really happy, and end up getting a divorce.

Do what makes you happy. Period.

Not everyone gets divorced! The studio and paint brush will only last so long! You need a good man to make you really happy. And even though we screw up once in awhile over all we are not so bad!

I lived in a studio apartment for 3 years and i had some good days but over all being married is so much better then sleeping by yourself day in and day out.

You cant judge your eventual marriage based on any other as it is up to the both of you to work on it together to survive. Now on to your original question. Yes it is possible to live a happy life while not married, but I would assume that it would be more lonely than happy at times.

I've come to believe not getting married is the only way to live a happy life......... Live the life you want, don't give it away to someone that won't appreciate the gift. That is unless you happen to be lucky enough to find a guy that adds to your life instead of taking from it. Then marry him quickly........before he too becomes like most of the others.
