I have 3 white Koi. one is a baby right now. One parent has bright blue eyes and the other has bright red eyes. Is the female- the one with blue eyes and the male- the one with red eyes? Thanks!

The only way to tell them apart is by looking at (or feeling) the gill covers during the time around when they're spawning. The male will have small white bumps that look loke pimples on the gill covers, giving them a "sandpapery" feel.

The females will also tend to be plumper, because they're carrying eggs.

whether a koi is male or female, there are three ways to look at them. The gill cover have little bumps are male, the koi body shape, the slender the koi, it's a male, female koi have wider body; however, if koi too small it's hard to tell the shape. After both test u will find out usually colorful kois are male. Yours are more likely to be female.

omg, u cant tell by the color of their eyes! one is simply albino, thats why he has red eyes, he dosnt have any color pigment in his skin at all. The other one is just have little color pigment thats why its white with blue eyes.
