however cliche this may seem it's still true. i believe that crap happens to us and screws us up. we get set in our safe little routine and we lose sight of god and our purpose. we lose joy. every day drags on and on and all you want to do is just lay down and go to sleep until everything is over. (here's where the cliche kicks in) i genuinely believe that everything happens for a reason whether you are supposed to learn from it or not. how you handle the crap that life throws you sets and example for others. because of your reaction, they decide whether they should follow you or not when the same thing happens to them. to get to the point, you are serving a purpose right now, even though you feel you aren't. all you have to do is decide whether you want to be the reason others fall into your situation or do you want to point others in a different direction. that is what we are all called to do. that is your purpose. it never left. i hope this helps. god bless.

I suggest you go back even further than you probably have. Start from the very bottom, consider various viewpoints, and decide for yourself:
Ask yourself what the divine MUST be and ask yourself what the divine MUST NOT be.
Let's face it: some gods that people propose don't make a lick of sense. That's why people stop believing in them. If you can't reconcile a good diety with our world, then maybe you have to concede that your god is powerless, absent, or indifferent and not so good after all. And perhaps many other supposed characteristics are just as fictional.
None of which must mean that there is NO god, even if whatever's out there isn't quite as ostentatious as some try to paint. There are forces in the universe that create life. Some of them so glaringly obvious that only the mad would dream of denying their existance. There are others that make things the way they are, and perhaps others that witness all our deeds. Many things that can be considered gods are HIGHLIGHTED instead of DENIED by science.
But first, you have to ask and look.

Ok, i have absolutly no idea if this relates at all to your question, but I've been dying to write down my philosophy of life and God and/or gods. I believe that we all have a chance to go to heaven, no mattter what your religion or beliefs and if this is not so and you have to be Christian to enter heaven, than I do not want to worship Him anymore. I think as long as you remain human and show remorse for you're mistakes and try your best, God will be satisfied. I suffered from loss of faith for awhile, but I started making my own philosophies, and I concluded that we all can reach heaven and God loves us all (even the bad ones). We were born innocent and only we can have the power to remain innocent as best we can, and God sees that through all our mistakes.

I believe in karma, so I believe that with right action and right thought, I will be able to reverse bad karma (if bad actions cause bad karma, then I suppose right actions can cause good karma). As long as there's a life force that makes a tree grow and holds the planets in place, I believe in a higher power. You need to access that power to reverse your losses. Bad experiences can teach you lessons in life (wisdom) which you can use to catapult you to success and happiness. I'm trying to test this belief, and so far so good. I do affirmations when I feel good so that it's meaningful and more powerful. Good luck.

I think there is an innate canny to believe in a higher power. I mean don't u ever wonder how u got here in the first place. Anyhoo...I can say that even with believing in God ur going to go through rough times - it's like any other relationship. Anyhoo...I too have lost much faith but trying to regain a sense of hope again - it's chaotic I will say that...I know this probably didn't answer ur question but hope you realize that there are others in the same boat.

To not be a blind follower is a hard road. A narrow road indeed.
Remember first that we are eternal. We are energy beings.
2. To seek knowledge
3. When you are deemed delusional by the majority you are probably on the right track
4. 'God" lies within the quantum. Order out of chaos
5. We are all part of the whole
We have a gift of being individual as you now know being free of the opiate of religion. breath in the feeling of free will every time you find the path hard. You are taking your first steps and as a baby finds out you stumble a lot. It hurts at times but the baby learns to walk alone and independently.

I have a liberal arts education but I love to read science - mostly books on cosmogeny written for the layman. The more I read about how all the constants of physics appear to conspire together to make life possible the more I am convinced of design.
Sure some alternative explanations are offered but even these bolster my belief in God. Take the weak anthropic argument combined with an enormous (perhaps infinite) number of universes for example. In other words, given enough different universes there is bound to be one suited for life and it would have to be ours or we wouldn't be around to wonder about it.
But the idea that there are innumerable universes, combined with the amazing technological progress our rather young civilization has made, makes me believe that it is highly likely that somewhen/somewhere has developed god-like powers of creation. After all, like Arthur C. Clark said: "the technology of a sufficiently advanced civilization would be indistinguishable from magic." Sounds like God to me.

You have to find faith in yourself. No one else can covnvince you but you. Just think for a while, why are you here? Can you believe the world and universe came from nothing? DO you believe that you can't make a difference. We all are different, and have a different path to take and we are all impotain in some way. I hope I helped!!! Just look inside yourself!!!

All I can say is read "conversations with god" by Neale Donald Walsch and your faith in a higher power will definitely be restored. There are actually 3 in the series. They are absolutely awesome books. Everyone I know that has read them are just blown away by them.....why? Because they actually MAKE SENSE.

I definitely believe in God, because this earth is too crazy intricately put together to not be made by something greater.
My idea for you is to test God and go exploring. Try going to a third world country and do some ministering. This will give you great joy as well as give you a purpose in life again.
