I have! A couple times. Once for a week and another time passing through. It's a pretty typical European seaside resort area on the Med. Some places are inexpensive and others are very expensive. Most of the towns have historic centers and shopping areas and lots of restaurants and bars. And of course, the beaches! You can also book tours through your hotel to see other places, usually within a couple hours on the tour bus.
I went to Cadiz last year and really liked it. That's not on Costa del Sol, it's on the west coast below Portugal. Didn't go to any of the beaches but the Parador (spanish hotel) in the city was right on the ocean with awesome views, and the town was fun, with a few things to see and do. We loved it after 3 days in London and a couple days in Madrid!

Its really warm weather all the time but not humid its a nice fresh heat. Theres a great beach and the see is good for swiming in,and there are mountains that you can go up on the chair lift so that you can see all around for many miles. There is a bird display up there. Also some very nice little Spanish villages which are very different to English.
