Well, assuming the visible universe is 40E9 light years in diameter, which is about 2.4E23 miles, the ratio of visible universe to the world is about 2.9E19. So dividing the earth's diameter by this ratio gives a sphere about 2.7E-16 miles in diameter, or about 4.4E-13 meters. Bigger than the largest atomic nucleus, but smaller than the hydrogen atoms's electron orbital. So an atom is at least in the ball park.

Of course, the total universe could be infinite.

...The atom.

However in the strictest sense, the universe doesn't really have a size. Despite the way people like to talk about it, the universe didn't have a beginning, it will not have an end.

It always has been, it always will be and it is infinite.

The matter/energy within it was created or maybe released into it, to create all that we know.

So I wouldn't say you could compare it to anything but if you're going from macroverse to microverse I'd say the atom is a good answer.

world = Earth?????

No comparison is possible.

At this time the Universe has been observed to be a minimum of 40 Billion Light Years deep in every direction from Earth. That is how far away we can SEE objects in deep space. That is not the end of it, that is just as far as we can SEE.

The Earth is roughly 8,000 Miles in diameter.

How would you plan to compare
40 Billion Light Years (known distance) to 8,000 Miles

It might be like a grain of sand compared to the Earth.

Seeing as how we don't really know the exact size of the universe, and it is constantly expanding, there is no easy way to answer your question. To give an accurate answer, we would have to compare the size of the world to something that is constantly growing smaller and smaller, like the intelligence and logical reasoning capabilities of US politicians.

our own universe is still expanding, but it will eventually contract and implode, creating another "big bang". i dont think infinity actually exists. i think you need to get into particle physics to compare earth and the universe in size. good question...btw how far is forever?

An atom or subatomic particle, assuming the nucleus is the sun, then an electron.
