Yes, I agree. Sometime, it feels like a worthless. You don't feel like talking, eating and doing nothing. Almighty has given us so much of feelings that we can be burned out with our own feelings. And this is not uncommon. In a life cycle, everyone has at least a starve & sleepless night and a low feeling.

You can't do anything right away. It takes time. First, you have to think and act to find the root cause. The root cause, if you try really hard then also may not be that easy to find. It lies somewhere beyond and may be a tiny bit of information. But for you, it may be large like an elephant.

Think Galaxy, Universe, World, Continent, Country, State, Town, your home and you. If you die today, you can't make that long journey again and there's always a reason of your existence. Yes, do exercise, go out, avoid negative feelings and stop thinking a lot. People can build an Eiffle tower just by thinking, but that will not help. You can do a lot. You can make a difference, in a world.

Deep:
1. mediate
2. do some yoga
3. read a fiction book to get my mind off of it
4. read a spiritually uplifting book (whatever your beliefs are, Zen, Christianity, etc.)
5. Get together with a good friend or mentor and talk about it
6. Write a poem or story
7. Ask myself to have a dream about it, and write about the dreams i have, trying to see what I can learn.

Shallow, but fun:
1. do a little shopping and give myself a cheap makeover
2. get a new haircut
3. see a movie all by myself at the theater that I really want to see
4. go on a weekend getaway alone or with a friend
5. make a really great meal (or eat out)
6. rent an old movie that I loved as a kid

finally, figure out what went wrong that made me feel crappy and try to correct it (i.e., find a new job, new boyfriend, go back to school, etc.). If it's some stupid perspective I have, I try to change the way I think about it.

I usually watch movies that'll make me cry and cry. Sometimes, like the rain, crying can make things look brand new. Also, a strong support group is essential. I don't mean like AA or a group like that, but your social network. I have a few friends on my phone that I know I can call and they'll listen and be supportive of me. Non-judgemental friends that can relate to how you are feeling is helpful.

One thought that always put me back in perspective is this:
No matter how bad you think your life is, there is someone out there who has it worse.

For instance, I live in a house, someone out there has no where to live. Don't take for granted the little things either. Flowers, a nice sunny day with a pretty sky, things like that. It might sound corny, but it'll make a world of difference when you just change your perspective about things.

Good luck! I hope you feel better!

I suffer from clinical depresson.
Depresson is a normal emotion for people to feel. However, if you start feeling depressed for no reason that you can think of, there is a chance you might be suffering from depression.
What I do when I am depressed, besides taking my medication, is I try to eat better and excersize. Excersizing releases endorphines (which gives you a temorary high or euphoric state) and promotes better circulation. The circulation of fresh oxygen to your brain also can help your overall mood. I suggest jogging, or if you can go to a gym, a cardiovascular machine. Even if your not in shape or hate excersize, you have to consider if you would rather sit around and be depressed, or do something healthy for yourself and possibly make you feel better.
Best Wishes
Justine
p.s. This is based off of my having to deal with depression for 5 years.

Sorry you're feeling blue!

It depends on how depressed you are. Give yourself a chance to be blue but give yourself a time limit as well. a day or two, OK. But call a friend, play with a pet, do something you usually enjoy.
Anything that lasts more than a few weeks needs some professional attention.

Best to you, I hope you feel better soon.

do things that soothe you and that make you feel good. Got emotions you need to get out but no one to talk to? Write them. Angry but can't expres it? Scream into a pillow or punch a punching bag. Exercise (I ridge an exercise bike and when I'm angry, I ride hell bent for leather. lol). Take a walk. Take a long hot bubble bath, light candles, get a scent that relaxes you (lavender is wonderful for relaxing...I'm not fond of the actual scent, but it works wonder to calm me down), maybe some music you love, and just forget about the world. Read a good bit of fiction, a favorite book you can lose yourself in. Buy yourself flowers and set them up in a vase somewhere you can see them all the time.

But whatever you're feeling...allow yourself to feel it. Let it be okay that you're feeling that way. If you feel like crying... do it. You'll feel better afterwards. Purge the emotions.

I usually exercise, but I'm an exercise nut, so I work out regardless of how i'm feeling.. I'd say try going out with some friends, to maybe a movie- that might help you feel better.. or go get your hair / nails/ feet done.. that might brighten your day :) Go to a park, or the mall, spend time with ur family.. if u wanna be alone, then just relax at home and maybe read a book or listed to your Ipod !!.. Hope you feel better soon :):)
