Because redheads also have the stereotype of being fun and a bit crazy, so you can call them Red and know they will take it in stride.

well actuually blondes do get called blondie and brunettes dont get called brownie cause that sounds nothing like brunette, it would have to be like brunettie
which doesnt sound right
and fromwhat your saying then reds would be called reddie...soo everything matches if you think about it
red heads have red hair
brunnettes have brown hair
blondes have blonde hair
brunette sounds fantsy b/c everyone actually used to be brunnette until people started migrating around some
then the different location changed the hair because of the sun
hence why if your from a certain country then everyones is alike in color

Being a natural red head, I guess it is just a national habit. But a lot of blonde's do get called Blondie.

well, brownie sounds a bit frumpy...that's why we get the privlidge of having a sort of french sounding hair color...brunette! And actually, blondes DO get called "Blondie" a lot.

I'm blonde and I get called sunshine...my friend who's blonde get called blondie, and the ones that are brunettes called called dumbie because of that one joke:

I think you're isolating an error. I am called blondie all the time, by people who actually know better, and by those who don't.
