Human. In fact there were more than one. At first it was young virgin girls, but they had a tendency to go missing. Later they were 40 ish women so that stopped happening. They were humans who where "touched" by Apollo.

The oracle is depicted in books as an apparition that manifests itself only to a few. So it made it slightly human and slightly divine.

She was human but considered with divine guidance.
