Provided your habits, tendancies and desires are not harmful to yourself or others, do you think it's wiser to follow the blueprint nature has wrote for you and be who you are, and want what you want? Or do you agree that it's your responsibilty to try to change and improve into something better, if you think that can be achieved with self denial, discipline and training?

If you discover your unique blueprint, then you must develop self discipline, delay gratification and train to harvest your talent. If not, you'll be "useless" and eventually just drift aimlessly. You must be useful somehow to society or else what kind of life can you have?

Following your bliss doesn't mean avoiding responsibility, it means you must passionately pursue your goals and prepare for success.

By all means, improve. It isn't necessarily your responsibility, but even the slightest success is worth the effort. Even if you are improving in ways that aren't entirely practical or useful to anyone, its still better than remaining a stagnant person. However, if you think improving yourself will not improve the quality of your life, which I gather you do believe, don't over exert. If you're in a good place right now and change will upset that somehow, why bother?

Even so, I think you can manage to gain new skills or hone old ones without too much stress. To be honest, I think it's kind of fun.

Seek your own path, since you have been preprogrammed when you are born into the world.
This is not to say that this will be easy. You might be the initiator of changes, or the pebble to set a wall to collapse. You may end up chronicling the changes, or destined to be one of its leaders.
Why am I saying this to you when I have no clue who you are and what you are talking about? LOL.
I think it is because I saw the word "evolve". It is the nucleus of change. It may be fundamentally flawed , or not. What it signifies is growth, and outward growth will be determined by the environment where it attempts to grow.
If growth is stunted, then perhaps it is not your time yet.

Some people believe that the "real you" is all covered up by accumulation of bad stuff due to bad experiences and wrong decisions. By peeling off those layers of bad stuff, you get to the core of who you really are. You do this by yes, a certain amount of denial, discipline and training.

Also, I think that we can transcend ordinary life by using discipline and training to achieve a higher purpose and higher state.

whats the point of evolving when everyone else won't so you'll just be a fruitcake lol? i would love to evolve...but people who don't want to will hold us back. i think we should all try and improve ourselves in some shape way or form. no ones perfect but if we all took a step towards perfection...over decades we will be at a level where we are nearly there...just because we evolve doesn't mean we ignore our destinies and dreams lol. far the opposite...because we evolved we will enjoy ourselves more lol. being who we are is who we want to be and who we try to become so the peaceful person we become is us =D as for habits....well that would be a hard one to overcome but if we stick at it we could evolve....

but it could all backfire and we could evolve to become man-beasts lol.

im just going to try and become a better person by trying to improve myself - i.e. tomorrow i shall not swear lol - and i shall smile =D this is me =D its in my nature to want to be better =D

smile =D

If you are happy with the way you are and are harming nobody, why would you want to change? What would make you think you needed to?

Something better implies that there is something wrong with us. There is nothing wrong with us. You can change to please others. You can change to please yourself. Or you can accept yourself for who or what you are. Anyone who doesn't accept you is, well, that's there problem.

I don't waste time with anyone who expects to be accepted but is unwilling to provide the same courtesy to me.
