Well the rise in power of Ho chi Min and the whole Vietnam Conflict, they still have tours and museums to that war in Vietnam. Then in the 1990's they tried to rebuild the nation, many big projects were underway. Hotels, resorts and so on. It is such a pretty country they hoped it would bring in tourists. The sad thing is when the Asian market crashed, so did the hopes of building a new and more modern Vietnam. There are now hotels over there that are only half built and so much money that was lost because of it.
