My parents had 6 kids.

My dad worked and my mom took care of the house and the kids. (Until their youngest went to school.)

I never had the impression that my dad lorded authority over my mom, although a couple of times I do remember my my Mom finangling for what she wanted from him. "Oh, come on, Jimmy...."

As far a discipline went, you did what mom said or you dealt with dad.

I'm pretty sure my dad was the head, to quote Olympia Dukakas, in Moonstruck, and my mom was the neck.

Maybe that's part of why I just don't get your obsession with authority.

See, it does no good at all to be the head, if you aren't attached at the neck.

My father. He was the one to manage the money and that kind of stuff, as well as keep my brother and I in line.

There's no cut and dried answer to this one. They both had equal say in almost everything.

Both. They were a team. If it was any other way, it wouldn't have worked. Life would have failed
