they still have intentional walking in baseball. Does intentional walking turn fans away from the game?

No. It's all part of the strategy of the game. Most fans appreciate that. They wouldn't pitch to the batter anyway.

I'd just as soon see teams wave the batter to first, rather than going through the act of throwing four outside pitches. That part seems like a waste of time. Softball just has the pitcher saying "we'll walk him," and off he goes.

It's part of the game. I doubt any real fans have a problem with intentional walks.

the reason they walk them is strategy and why they dont just send them to first without the pitches is the possibility of wild pitch or passed ball if there are other runners on base advancing to the next base, and the number of pitches the pitcher has thrown is a factor on how long he will be in there, this is usually only a factor with starting pitchers.

Go back to wrestling :(

P.S. To the guy after me that said something about wasting pitches on an IBB...Burleigh Grimes had a good line about this one..."Why waste four pitches on a guy when one between the numbers will do?"
