Ruby is definitely a girl's name and there are sooooo many songs about girls's named Ruby, it should never be confused for a boy's name. There's one by BB King, The Beattles, Kenny Rogers, and a bunch more. Ruby is a girl's name thanks mostly to pop culture. I like Ruby Lu. It sounds cool.

Could be cute, but sounds a bit southern and oldfashioned. One of the kid characters on Jim Belushi's show is named Ruby. Makes me recall the song, "Ruby, Don't Take Your Love to Town." Not very flattering character there.

I think its beautiful. Not many kids around with that name. What would be the middle name? Just curious to see how it all sounds?

I know an older woman with that name and can't help but think of her.. but I do think it is cute,classy name. Ruby. So cute.

i love the name ruby but honestly.
i would go with a different middle name.
but besides that rubys adorbable.
maybe ruby marie?
