My dad had some issues. I think my Mom was usually right. Dad's grown up a lot over the years, though, and he's a pretty good grandpa.

My dad was never right. He left my mom when I was 2, my brother was 1 and my mom was pregnant with their 3rd. He was having an affair and the "other woman" got pregnant. He left us and my mom, because he felt "obligated" to the other woman. 2 weeks after that baby was born, she left my dad for another man, my dad tried to come back but mom told him he found the door the first time he left, he could find it again. I don't hate him, I don't know him, but I do know I don't like him.

Real Dad? Couldn't be. He was never around. Step Dad, yeah a few times. But usually he let me figure things out for myself, there was no I told you so.

He was right about several universal truths in life, but way off-mark about several other things regarding religion and politics and various points of view. But of the stuff which actually matters? Yes, he was definitely right.
