I have been in school play, made up play with my friends and also auditioned for John Robert Powers..but I didn't do it because it was a little too expensive.

Audition at your local community theatre. If you don't have one, keep acting at your school. After you graduate, either go to college for theatre or move to New York or Chicago and audition whenever you're not waiting tables. Read every play you can get your hands on and think about which part you might be cast in and what choices you would make in playing the role.

JRP is excellent. I loved the classes there. They helped so much, even if it is pricy, and I'm not just saying that because my cousin owns JRP Atlanta. If your serious about acting, it will take some sacrifice.

For now, try out for plays in your town. Also, learn as many skills as you can. Things like karate, kickboxing, playing an insturment, figure skating, anything helps. Also, it is REALLY good for your career to know multiple languages.

Also, fine tune your skills. Practice your facial expression in front of a mirrior, to get a genuine look. Also, practice getting into character. ou can find good monologes to practice with for free online. Just practice them, and seriosuly get into character. Not jsut read, it- BE it. You are the character, not you. Create a little section in your brain that is all about your chaarcter. You have to believe you are the character. It helps to think of things not in plays though- figure out your favorite foods, favorite colors, favorite bands, even if it seems irrelevant. Trust me, getting into character is everything in acting, and practicing is the only way to get it.

You are not ready for the next step,or rather , the next step for you would be to do some more acting, a lot more and start reading plays, as many as you can find, and start reading books about acting. Good for you for not signing up with Powers, one of the biggest scams there is.
