Whats that ball game they play with the long scoop like bats?

It look a bit dangerous with the speed those balls fly

You mean jai alai? If so, those aren't bats. They use the scoops to throw/catch the ball back and forth at each other on a special court with a side wall and lines marked on the floor. If the ball is dropped, missed, held too long, or goes out of bounds, a point is awarded to one of the players. They then play to 7 or 9 points to win the game.

It's really popular in Hispanic cultures. And, there is a lot of gambling that goes on at jai alai games.
